McEwen's Voodoo

This is the first in a series of photo shoots capturing Samantha McEwen's latest collection. Some of the items are pre-collection garments, we are currently waiting with bated breath for her final collection.

Modelled by Emma Noble and myself acting as photographer, here is a small insight into McEwen's mesmerising mind.

Holiday Style Icon

I mentioned that I wanted a big hat for summer and this is what my friend sent me. But the checked trousers, camel and tangerine combo and serious face surrounded by clutter, I love it. New Style Icon!

One Last Hurray

The final shoot to be done for issue 2 of 7th Man was also my last shoot for the team before returning to university. For this shoot I was partnered with the scarily young, but very talented Luke Abby to work on the set design and production of this mammoth shoot. After one of the most stressful days of my life the shoot was complete, however it never made it into the final edition of the magazine, and I am yet to see all the photographs, but such is life!

BEST BRITS

'Best Brits' was a showcase of British talent that I assisted with for the 7th Man photo shoot. It used both British designers and British models f and was styled by Kenny Ho.

Colour Me Up

This shoot was the first shoot that I did for 7th Man Magazine. I assisted Fashion Editor Dan Blake throughout the long day only for us to accidentally let off a fire extinguisher just as we had finished. Not so smooth for one of my first days but it was a success in the end.
(No clothes were harmed during this photo shoot!)

Location Location Location

You would think that finding black and white paved steps wouldn't be that hard to find in the centre of London however after quite a search (including an unnerving snoop around some abandoned buildings) the perfect location was found. Plus the shoot turned out to be one of my favourite within the second issue of '7th Man'.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

I may have been called in to work on a Sunday morning but the situation was made slightly better by the fact it was to assist on a nude photo shoot to promote the 7th Man Bag range.

7th MAN MAGAZINE

Last summer the high end menswear magazine 'SEVENTH MAN' became my home whilst working on their second issue. The third issue is due to come out very soon so keep your eyes open, www.7thmanmagazine.com

Westminster Show 2010

One of the main things that impressed me about the students of Westminster was their interesting fabric manipulation, especially in Rachel King and Jessica Madden’s collections. I was very impressed with Madden’s collection, the intricate fabric detailing (plastic coated lace) and the dramatic Elizabethan ruffles was very regal whilst the styling and single colour gave it a chic modern edge. I also loved Tamsin Lilywhite’s collection, best described as equestrian gone wrong, but it was so right. Her floor length spray painted trench coats are on now on my wish list, as well as the ice skates in Hannah Menzie’s collection.

Over all the professionalism of the entire show, from the portfolios to the show setup and not forgetting the clothes themselves did not fail to disappoint. I also think that it was brave of them to not show at Graduate Fashion Week; however I think that the decision has paid off.
